2000 Chevrolet Tahoe Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear brake line (Caliper) on 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: Begin seat the vehicle and take out the tire and wheel to replace the rear brake hose at the caliper. Unload gunk from the hose fittings before you remove the hose connection at the brake pipe. Take out the brake hose by removing its retaining clip first. Then remove the brake hose bolt from the axle and brake hose mounting bolt with the washers at the caliper which also needs a new bolt to dissassemble the assembly. Place the new brake hose properly into position without twisting it and fasten it with the brake hose mounting bolt and fresh caliper compression washers. Secure the bolt with a torque of 45 n.m (33 lb.ft). After that you need to mount the brake hose bolt and bracket onto the axle while applying 18 pounds of torque. Following that put on the brake hose retaining clip. Connect the brakepipe while tightening both ends to 25 newton meters then complete the brake system bleed. Reposition the tire and wheel unit before you take off the safety stands and drop the vehicle to the ground.
