    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin brake hose replacement by lifting and propping up the vehicle followed by taking off its tire and wheel components. After clearing dirt from both brake parts put rubber caps on the exposed pipe end to prevent further brake contamination. To disconnect the brake hose safely twist the back up wrench into the brake pipe fitting while plugging or capping of the exposed end. Take off the brake hose retaining clip from its bracket and remove the brake hose through the bracket. Twist loose the brake hose to caliper bolt on the brake caliper and discard the 2 stuck copper brake hose gaskets. Install the brake hose bolt to the brake hose with 2 new gaskets and fit in the brake hose to caliper bolt with 2 new washers. Tighten the bolt to 40 n.m (30 lb ft) with proper brake hose alignment. Fasten the brake hose into its designated mounting bracket by placing the brake hose retaining clip over it. Secure the brake pipe fitting end with a wrench at the brake hose end. Keep the mounting bracket and brake pipe from bending as you connect the brake pipe end to the brake hose and tighten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Seal and install the tire assembly back onto the vehicle and check if the brake hose has contact with suspension or tire parts. Correct problems before lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line (Jounce (W/O JL4)) on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Use the proper lifting tools to raise and stabilize the vehicle before cleaning both brake hose and pipe fittings of debris. To avoid brake fluid loss place rubber caps over damaged brake pipe ends. Use the back up wrench to release the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose while plugging or capping both ends of the brake pipe. Remove the mounting clip linking the brake hose to its bracket while taking the jounce hose out of the mounting bracket. Secure the brake pipe fitting ends with caps or plugs before disconnecting them. Separate the 2 brake pipes from the junction block on the rear axle by taping the ends with caps or plugs. Take out the brake hose from the vehicle by removing the junction block retaining bolt from the axle. Put the brake hose in place and bolt the junction block to the axle at 12 Nm torque. Secure the rear brake pipe ends to the junction block on the axle by tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs., 25 Meter Kg). Keep the hose straight while also keeping it away from suspension parts. Put the brake hose in place under the suspension weight then attach it using the jounce hose maintaining clip. Thread the exposed brake pipe fitting end onto the brake hose in a clockwise direction using a back up wrench while maintaining straight alignment of the bracket and pipe. Check if the hose touches suspension parts; if it does remove and repair it. Finish by pumping out the fluid from the hydraulic brake lines before lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line (Caliper) on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin seat the vehicle and take out the tire and wheel to replace the rear brake hose at the caliper. Unload gunk from the hose fittings before you remove the hose connection at the brake pipe. Take out the brake hose by removing its retaining clip first. Then remove the brake hose bolt from the axle and brake hose mounting bolt with the washers at the caliper which also needs a new bolt to dissassemble the assembly. Place the new brake hose properly into position without twisting it and fasten it with the brake hose mounting bolt and fresh caliper compression washers. Secure the bolt with a torque of 45 n.m (33 lb.ft). After that you need to mount the brake hose bolt and bracket onto the axle while applying 18 pounds of torque. Following that put on the brake hose retaining clip. Connect the brakepipe while tightening both ends to 25 newton meters then complete the brake system bleed. Reposition the tire and wheel unit before you take off the safety stands and drop the vehicle to the ground.

    Q:
How to Replace a Rear Jounce Brake Line on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the rear brake hose jounce you must first hoist and stabilize the vehicle then wipe off every dirt and contamination from brake hose and pipe connections. To prevent brake fluid waste and contamination install rubber caps over the open brake pipe fittings. Run a second wrench tool while shifting the brake pipe fitting from brake hose links before sealing the brake pipe end tips. First disengage the brake hose from its bracket by taking off the reinforcement clip. Then extract the jounce hose without letting brake pipe ends leak. Cut off the 2 rear brake pipe connections from the junction block at the rear axle location and seal the tube ends. Remove the axle retainer bolt first before taking out the brake hose from the vehicle. Install the brake hose in back on the axle first and fasten the junction block bolt with 12 nm tightness at 106 inch lbs. Torque. Place caps off the brake pipe ends and join them with the junction block on the axle with proper torque value of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Keep the hose straight and away from suspension components. When the vehicle sits on its suspension install the brake hose into its bracket and fasten it with the jounce hose retaining clip. Secure the exposed brake pipe fitting to the brake hose by using a back up wrench. Also tighten the connection until it reaches 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque. Keep the bracket and pipe straight throughout the process. Check if the Brake Line touches suspension elements. Replace it with a new part if necessary after solving the problem. Toend the procedure by emptying the hydraulic brake system and letting the vehicle reach ground level.

    Q:
How to properly replace brake lines to ensure safety on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace your brake pipes with double-walled steel variety and secure the new pipes through their original fasteners to stop brake system failure and prevent injuries. Set up brake pipes at least 6 mm apart from one another. Unclamp the brake pipe fittings from each pipe end followed by disconnecting the brake fasteners then pulling out the entire brake system. Form the new brake pipe to fit correctly before installing it with a minimum 19mm (3/4 inch) gap to all moving or vibrating parts. Secure the fasteners onto the brake pipe first and attach each fitting to either the BPMV or wheel jounce hoses for torque at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) while setting the master cylinder connections to an equivalent torque. Complete the process by letting the hydraulic brake fluid exit all channels.
