How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Cadillac Seville?

In order to replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, first, raise and support the vehicle. Take off air deflector and the Engine Mount, then disconnect the crankshaft sensor electrical connector, where you may be required to identify the ckp sensor. Next, remove the crankshaft sensor retaining bolt and pull off the crankshaft sensor. Prior to installation, check the crankshaft sensor o-ring for wear or tear and change if required. Lube the o-ring with clean engine oil, and then fit the crankshaft sensor and secure its location using the retaining bolt, tighten to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnection of the crankshaft sensor electrical connector, lower Engine Mount to be installed as well as the air deflector. Depressurized the vehicle, turned it on, and looked for oil leaks near the crankshaft sensor. Finally do the ckp system variation learn procedure.
