How to Replace a Rear (Drum) Brake Line on 2003 Buick Century?

Before you start work, use jack stands to lift the vehicle while someone supports its weight below. Then remove the rear tire and wheel parts. Remove all waste from brake hoses and brake pipe fitting before installing a rubber cap or plug to stop brake fluid leaks and contaminants. To eliminate brake fluid leakages connect the hose fitting using a back up wrench, and finish by plugging the remaining brake pipe end without deforming brake parts . Remove the brake hose retaining clip from the brackets and take the hose out of the mounting positions. Insert the brake hose into hose mounting brackets without bends and position its fitting at the notch following hose paint marks. Next attach the retainer clips to the hose fittings at each bracket. Secure the brake pipe to the hose using the back up wrench tool but refrain from bending either element. Fasten brake pipe connections to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) then place the tire and wheel back on before lowering the vehicle to check if the hose touches the suspension parts; fix or remove the hose if necessary. Complete the hydraulic braking job by letting air escape from the system.
