• Q: How to replace the ABS Control Module on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

  A: Begin your replacement of the ABS Control Module only when you turn off the ignition to defend equipment systems. Clean all surrounding areas of the ABS Control Module so that dirt does not reach the disassembled abs components. You should disconnect the bypass valve from the Radiator before moving it to an appropriate position. Before disconnecting the ABS Control Module electrical connector the technician should first remove the ABS Control Module connector position assurance retainer and rotate the ABS Control Module connector tab to the unlocked position. Raise the vehicle after discarding both upper ABS Control Module to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) screws. First detach the front air deflector before disposing of the two ABS Control Module to bpmv lower screws. The replacement of a faulty ABS Control Module represents the only option because cleaning the ABS Control Module/bpmv surface area precedes any repair attempts. Maintain connection between the bpmv and new ABS Control Module by installing it while ensuring proper placement of the internal pump motor connector inside the unit. Put the new ABS Control Module/bpmv screws to their upper positions first before raising the vehicle and setting it in place to install the lower screws in correct sequence (1-4) while torquing each to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Install the front air deflector while lowering the vehicle back to ground. Connect ABS Control Module electrical wires to the ABS Control Module component then lock ABS Control Module connector tab and install ABS Control Module connector position assurance retainer. Install the coolant bypass valve to its reinstallation point on the Radiator. The scan tool should be used to clear dtcs before performing an auto bleed procedure along with the abs diagnostic system check.
