What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair Brake Calipers on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

To service and repair the brake caliper you need two tools - universal driver part number j 8092 and caliper boot seal installer j 45507. First take the brake caliper out and let all brake fluid drain through. Place clean cloths inside the caliper housing before pistons removal and use low pressure compressed air to push them gently out. Set a 25 mm block wood between caliper and Piston then position a large c-clamp on the body while performing the Piston removal process. Repad the caliper housing interior then place one more wooden block on top of the open caliper bore. Adjust the procedure to extract the second Piston and throw away both old Piston dust boot seal and Piston seal after the extraction. Depress the cap to expose the bleeder valve of the caliper then take off both parts. Keep harmful abrasives away from the Piston area. Thoroughly clean the caliper installation bracket while cleaning the Piston chambers and dust boots with alcohol. After drying all parts in clean filtered air you must examine the assembly for flaws and replace the entire caliper unit if needed. Placement starts with installing both the bleeder valve and its cap. Apply delco supreme 11 lubricant to new Piston seals before placing them into the caliper chamber. Before inserting new dust boot seals you should apply lubrication to both caliper bores and pistons. Insert the universal driver and caliper boot seal installer tools to make sure dust boot seals fully take their position in the caliper housing. Put the caliper unit back on the vehicle at the end of the process.
