How to replace the front brake calipers on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

When replacing the front brake caliper start with checking the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. Check fluid levels in the brake master cylinder reservoir before proceeding; drain one-third of excess fluid if fluid level sits above middle of the maximum-to-minimum range. Next raise the vehicle and support it before taking out the tire assembly and wheel. Apply a significant c-clamp across the brake caliper body until the caliper piston becomes compressed enough to pass the brake rotor then release the clamp. Remove the brake hose bolt from the caliper to detach the hose. Discard both copper gaskets before plugging the openings to minimize fluid leakage. Take off the brake caliper from its bracket by removing its pin bolts. Check for damage on caliper slide boots before replacement when installing the caliper. Before securing the caliper to its bracket, apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to two-thirds of the threaded lower caliper bracket bolts length while cleaning the caliper pin bolts threads and bracket hole threads. Install the caliper pin bolts on the caliper and apply high-temperature silicone brake lubricant before tightening them to 63 n.m (46 lb ft). After removing the caliper plugs together with brake hose components you will install new copper brake hose gaskets before fastening the brake hose to the caliper with a 40 n.m (30 lb ft) torque. Bleed hydraulic brake fluid through the pedal operation by applying a force that stops at two-thirds of pedal distance followed by slow releases until the brake responds strongly. The installation process ends with the vehicle receiving its tire-wheel assembly followed by lowering it down.
