How to replace the upper rear axle control arm on 2004 Cadillac XLR?

To remove the upper rear axle Control Arm, firstly, remove the raise and support the vehicle. Take off the tire and wheel assembly; disconnect the electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor and also disconnect the electronic suspension control sensor link. Remove the suspension knuckle from the upper Control Arm using the j 42188 ball joint separator (J 42188). Place the lower Control Arm on a jack stand, loosen the upper ball joint stud nut without removing it and then remove the j 42188 and the ball joint stud nut from the ball joint stud. Next, take out the bolts holding the upper Control Arm onto the frame and take out the upper Control Arm from the vehicle. For installation, install the upper Control Arm mounting bolts into frame of the vehicle and tighten upper Control Arm back into the Control Arm with nuts tucked down into frame with 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Shear the outer ball joint nut and pf bolts back onto the suspension knuckle upper ball joint stud using a hammer 110mm socket before reshearing on the upper Control Arm, using an allen wrench if needed for preventing spinning during ball joint stud nut tightening. Provide the suspension knuckle ball joint stud nut an additional 195 degrees of turn after tightening it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) in order to seat the ball joint stud. Reconnect the electrical connector for the wheel speed sensor, as well as the link for the electronic suspension control sensor. Deny the remotely controlled jack stand from the lower Control Arm, reinstall a rear wheel and tire assembly, have the car lowered, and conduct a rear wheel alignment.
