How to set the camshaft timing after the camshaft drive system has been disturbed on 2005 Cadillac DeVille?

Set the Camshaft timing requires the removal of left Camshaft cover and right Camshaft cover and engine front cover and three chain tensioners if present. Remove these components before starting the procedure. The Crankshaft rotation socket (J 39946) should be used for Crankshaft rotation until the sprocket drive key reaches the 1 o'clock mark. Afterward place the Crankshaft and the intermediate shaft sprockets onto the primary drive chain so their timing marks directly face each other. Employ the Crankshaft rotation socket (J 39946) to insert the Crankshaft key into the sprocket while maintaining the timing marks' proper alignment. Fasten the Camshaft intermediate sprocket bolt using a torque of 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). After you install the main Camshaft drive chain tensioner you must tighten its bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) then check that the timing marks display vertical alignment. Secure the Crankshaft in place using the flywheel holder (J 44214). Guide the lh Cylinder Head secondary drive chain to the inner row of intermediate shaft teeth while positioning the re Camshaft sprocket to receive Camshaft position sensor input. Then place the exhaust Camshaft sprocket into the space marked le with the drive pin alignment. To install the intake Camshaft sprocket apply a wrench to make minor adjustments if needed. Secure only the retainer bolts loosely to both exhaust and intake sprocket sets and mount the secondary Camshaft tensioner with bolt torque to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and sprocket bolts to 120 nm (89 ft. Lbs.). The installation of right side camshafts requires precise alignment of timing marks to finish installing the Oil Pump followed by the engine front cover and right Camshaft cover and left Camshaft cover.
