What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Calipers (JL9) on 2005 Cadillac STS?

Only universal driver (J8092) and caliper boot seal installer (J45507) are needed to work on the jl9 rear brake caliper. Take out the brake caliper first then push the Piston out through the brake fluid opening with compressed air stream while you pad the internal caliper parts with clean clothing. Use a small wooden or plastic stick to take off the Piston dust boot seal and Piston seal. Before working on the brake caliper bleeder valve you should check and replace the mounting bracket if it shows signs of damage or wear. Use a clean towel to wipe the caliper Piston bore and seal counter-bore before blowing filtered air through the unit while it is resting on clean cloths. If you find any damage to the caliper components during inspection replace the entire brake caliper unit. After installing the brake caliper bleeder valve with 14 nm torque apply the bleeder valve cap at the end. Put the new Piston seal in the caliper bore seal groove by applying delco supreme 11 brake fluid (12377967 or 992667) and make sure the seal lies flat without twisting. Before putting the caliper Piston inside the bore apply brake fluid to both components. Push the new dust boot seal onto the Piston then insert the j8092 and j45507 tools to fully fix the seal into its groove. Reinstall the caliper into its normal position on the car.
