How to Overhaul the Front Brake Calipers (JE5) on 2006 Cadillac STS?

Start overhauling the front brake caliper je5 by taking necessary safety measures for brake fluid and dust. Take off the brake caliper then empty all brake fluid from the system. You need to put in a 25 mm wood block between the caliper and Piston space and use cleaning cloths to protect the caliper internal parts while taking out the Piston. Use a big c-clamp to compress the caliper and put low-pressure pressured air through the brake caliper entry while keeping the Piston compressed. Apply new padding when the Piston is out and put another wood block in the open caliper assembly before proceeding with the next Piston. Take out the Piston dust boot seals and Piston seals before removing the bleeder valve cap and bleeder valve with their seal. Check your mounting bracket for damages and put on a new one when needed. Drench caliper Piston bores and pistons with denatured alcohol and dry them with filtered air that never contains lubrication. Replace the entire caliper system when you find damage in the caliper components. Insert the valve stem seal onto the bleeder valve and fasten it with 14 nm torque (124 inch lbs.), before installing the cap. Install new Piston seals in the caliper bore by applying delco supreme 11 lubricant from gm part 12377967 (or Canadian 992667) without twisting them. Place the dust boot fold into the bore and insert the Piston into its correct position. Use this method to install the second Piston and attach the brake caliper to its original position.
