2006 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the right engine mount on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?
A: The process begins by taking out the air cleaner outlet duct followed by Engine Mount struts and Catalytic Converter after which you must remove the right front wheel with its tire and the right engine splash shield. You must remove all Engine Mount lower nuts after inserting wood pieces between the Oil Pan and the jack support to protect against damage. The maintenance process begins with securing the engine using an adjustable jack stand and block of wood and proceeds to unscrew the Engine Mount bracket bolts which are applicable for front wheel drive (FWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) vehicles. The adjustable jack and block of wood should elevate the engine to extract the Engine Mount/bracket following which the mount/bracket along with its nuts should be removed for fwd and awd configurations. Awd Engine Mount bracket installation begins with fitting the bracket followed by tightening its nuts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Add and tighten the fwd Engine Mount bracket along with all its nuts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). The installation of Engine Mount/bracket requires application of bracket bolts for each front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configuration which needs to be tightened to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Follow engine lowering while seat positioning the mount/bracket inside the cradle, after which install the Engine Mount lower nuts with a torque setting of 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). The final step includes reinstallation of the right engine splash shield coupled with a right front wheel and tire and Catalytic Converter and Engine Mount struts and air cleaner outlet duct.
