2005 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the right engine mount on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
A: The right Engine Mount replacement process begins by disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by removing the throttle duct air inlet. You must first detach the Engine Mount struts then lift and support your vehicle according to the support method indicated. Start by disconnecting the twc pipe from the Exhaust Manifold located at the engine right side and subsequently remove the right front wheel and tire together with the right engine splash shield. The job requires you to remove Engine Mount lower nuts but install a wooden block between Oil Pan and jack support to stop damage to the Oil Pan. The combination of a utility stand with a block of wood will elevate the engine during the procedure. Engine Mount bracket installation calls for removal of fwd bolts that connect to the Oil Pan and awd users must also sever the Engine Mount bracket-to-engine bolts. The procedure begins by taking off Engine Mount upper nuts followed by Engine Mount off the Engine Mount bracket after removing Engine Mount bracket and Engine Mount. Attach the Engine Mount on its bracket while you install Engine Mount upper nuts using a torque of 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.). The installation requires attaching the Engine Mount bracket with the Engine Mount to the Oil Pan and tightening the Engine Mount bracket bolts to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.) or hand tightening for awd. Installation of the Engine Mount to engine bolt requires application of torque to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.) for awd systems. Position the engine on the utility stand and fasten the Engine Mount lower nuts at 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Reposition the right engine splash shield before reconnecting the right front wheel along with tire and re-linking the twc pipe with the Exhaust Manifold located on the engine right side. After completing the process lower the vehicle while you install the Engine Mount struts followed by reconnections of the battery ground (negative) cable.
