How to replace the primary cam gear and timing chain on 2007 Cadillac SRX?

To remove the timing chain and sprockets, first: remove the Oil Pump. Set the timing marks in line with the crankshaft socket (J 39946). Then remove the secondary camshaft drive chains and the timing chain tensioner as well as the oil outlet tube. Then, remove the timing chain guide bolts and guide, taking out camshaft intermediate sprocket retaining bolt. Take out the timing chain, the crankshaft sprocket, and the camshaft intermediate sprocket as a unit. It is time to clean the camshaft timing drive parts and inspect them. For the installation align the timing marks of camshaft intermediate and the crankshaft sprockets vertically. Mount the timing chain on the drive sprockets and do use crankshaft socket (J 39946) to rotate the crankshaft until the crankshaft keyway was at the 1 o'clock position. Mount the timing chain, crankshaft sprocket and camshaft intermediate sprocket in an assembly. Mount the camshaft intermediate sprocket retaining bolt, tighten up to 60 n.m (44 lb ft). Next, install the timing chain guide and its bolts, ensuring that it is tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Mount the timing chain tension, followed by the oil outlet tube and bolts, tightening oil outlet tube bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Lastly install the secondary camshaft drive chains and then pull the pin from the timing chain tensioner release lever and place the timing marks vertically oriented way and reinstall the Oil Pump.
