How to replace the rear brake calipers on 2007 Cadillac XLR?

View the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir first; if present at center between maximum and minimum marks no fluid needs removing but lowering to midpoint when fluid is beyond that mark. Lift up the vehicle and take off the tire and wheel unit from underneath. Separate both copper brake hose gaskets from the caliper bolt and brake hose then dispose them as they may be stuck to the hardware ends. Stop fluid from leaking out of both brake parts by using plugs at their openings. Separate the brake caliper guide pin bolts and take the whole caliper off its holding bracket. Check the slide boots for wear and stress; replace them if needed. Replace the brake caliper on its bracket by fastening its bolts to 31 N.m (23 lb ft). Place new copper hose gaskets on the brake caliper opening and hose then attach the brake caliper inlet fitting bolt to the hose and tighten it to 45 N.m (33 lb ft). Empty the brake system of fluid, put back the tire and wheel unit before lowering the car.
