How to Replace Coil Springs and a Shock Absorber Safely on 2008 Cadillac STS?

The replacement of shock absorbers along with their parts starts by elevating and securing the vehicle in position. Start by removing the wheel with its tire along with the shock module from the vehicle. Start by putting the shock module into the spring compressor before marking both the upper Control Arm assembly and insulator to ensure correct installation occurs when the shock absorber glides at no resistance. Rotate the spring compressor forcing screw until the coil spring becomes compressed. After that remove the magnaride sensor nut and the shock absorber upper retaining nut as the operator draws out the shock absorber from the shock module. First use the compressor forcing screw to unwind the connection until you free the upper mounting plate with coil spring before taking out the upper Control Arm bracket assembly and insulator together with coil spring from the spring compressor. The installation requires orienting the alignment pins in the upper Control Arm bracket exactly 90 degrees with respect to the shock absorber lower mounting holes. Place the coil spring together with the insulator and upper Control Arm bracket assembly and shock absorber inside the spring compressor while maintaining correct marks alignment. Afterward compress the coil spring once more. After positioning the shock absorber retaining nut install it with torque at 25 n.m (18 lb ft) then add the magnaride sensor nut. Transfer the shock module back onto the vehicle while keeping it inside the spring compressor before removing it. After the installation of the tire and wheel engineers should proceed to lower the vehicle.
