How to replace the rear wheel bearing and hub on 2008 Cadillac STS?

To initiate the work start by lifting the vehicle onto supporting stands. First take off the tire and wheel from the vehicle then remove the brake rotor in the back. Disconnect both the Wheel Speed Sensor and backing plate electrical connectors. Loosen and take out the wheel drive shaft retaining nut before gently undoing the upper Control Arm to knuckle retaining nut. Use the ball joint remover tool j 43631 to disconnect the top Control Arm from the knuckle while staying away from the boot seal to remove the Wheel Bearing mounting bolts. Use the Wheel Hub remover tool (J 45859) to unfasten the wheel drive shaft housing while you dismount its holder bolts. Put the new Wheel Bearing/hub in position then fasten it with bolts which must be tightened to 125 n.m (92 lb ft). Place the upper Control Arm on the knuckle and fasten a replacement wheel drive shaft with the required torque value of 160 n.m. Reinstall the brake rotor and link the Wheel Speed Sensor electricity connections to the backing plate and main connector. Then attach the tire and wheel while also lowering the vehicle.
