How to replace the trailing arm on 2008 Cadillac STS?

First, lift and support the vehicle in order to replace the Trailing Arm. Take off the wheel and tire, then disconnect the automatic level control link from the upper Control Arm. Next, disconnect the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts and remove the bracket from the mounting studs. Support the bottom Control Arm with an appropriate jack; take off the trailing link to knuckle nut and bolt. Lift the frame with a suitable jack, and loosen the front bolts from the frame to lower the front of the rear frame. After that, remove the jack. Take out the trailing link from the vehicle by removing the trailing link to frame nut and bolt sequence. For installation, loosely plug in the trailing link to the car after which the trailing link to frame bolt and nut should be plugged. Lift the frame with an appropriate jack and bolt it to the frame at the front with 265 n.m (195 lb. Ft), tightening it. Take out the jack and help the lower Control Arm with a jack appropriate for the alignment of the trailing link and knuckle. Install the trailing link to knuckle bolt and nut and tighten the knuckle bolt to frame nut to 150 n.m (11 lb ft) and install the trailing link to mounting bolt to 170 n.m (125 lb ft). Mount the brake pipe bracket to the studs using the retaining nuts and tighten them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Lastly, connect automatic level control link to the higher-Control Arm, reattach the tire and wheel, and position the vehicle down.
