Upper Control Arm, Rear Passenger Side

To remove Trailing Arm, first raise and prop the vehicle. Take off the tire and wheel, and remove the automatic level control link from the upper Control Arm. Then, remove the brake pipe bracket to retain nuts and remove the bracket from mounting studs. Support the lower Control Arm with the suitable jack and then remove the trailing link to knuckle nut and bolt. After taking the jack out, position the frame using a suitable jack properly, and undo the front bolts from the frame to drop the front of the back frame. Disassemble the trailing link off the frame nut and bolt and then pull the trailing link out of the vehicle. For installation, start off by loosely installing the trailers link to vehicle then the trailing link to frame bolt and nut. Lift the frame with an appropriate jack, bearing in mind fastener caution guidelines. Install the front bolts into the frame and tighten them to 265 nm (195 lb ft) and then remove the jack. Support the lower Control Arm with appropriate jack, for alignment of the trailing link and knuckle and bolt on the trailing link into the knuckle bolt and nut. For tightening: tighten the trailing link to frame nut to 150 nm (111 lb ft) and trailing link to knuckle mounting bolt to 170 nm(125 lb ft). Attach the brake pipe bracket to the mounting studs, using the retaining nuts and tightening them to 10 nm (89 ft lb), then attach the automatic level control link to the upper Control Arm. Finally, filter them and reinstall the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.

First, lift and support the vehicle, then pull off the tire and wheel to replace the Trailing Arm. Unshack the brake pipe bracket link from the upper Control Arm, then the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts, and finally install the brake pipe bracket to the mounting studs. Place the side of the lower Control Arm on a jack support point that is suitable, then release the trailing link to knuckle nut and bolt. Dislodge the jack and support the frame with suitable jack and dissect the front bolts of the frame bottoming out the front of rear frame. After that, remove the trailing link to frame nut and bolt and pull off the trailing link from the vehicle. Care should be taken to ensure that during installation, while reinstalling the trailing link back onto the vehicle it should be loosely installed, only then to be securely tightened. Mount the trailing link to frame bolt and nut and raise the frame with a suitable jack. Replace the front bolts to the frame and tighten them until they reach 265 nm (195 ft. Lbs.). Will remove the jack and support it for the lower Control Arm using an apt jack to be aligned with the trailing link and knuckle. The trailing link to knuckle bolt and nut is installed by tightening the trailing link to the frame nut to 150 nm (111 ft. Lbs.), and the trailing link to knuckle nut to 170 nm (125 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the brake pipe bracket putting back on the mounting studs and secure the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts, turning them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs), install the automatic level control link to the top control and the final stage being the tire and wheel then lower the vehicle.

Reinstall the brake caliper mounting bracket, followed by the shock absorber, and then the tire and wheel assembly.

Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel.

Remove the front mounting bolts for the rear suspension support.

Tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) plus an additional 180 degrees.

Install the shock absorber yoke from the lower control arm.

Remove the rear trailing arm mounting bolt from the knuckle and support the front of the rear suspension support, lowering it enough to access the front trailing arm mounting bolt and nut.

Remove the front mounting bolts for the rear suspension support, then take out the front mounting nut and bolt for the trailing arm before removing the trailing arm from the vehicle.

First, raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel.

Connect the upper control arm to the knuckle, ensuring to follow fastener precautions.

Reinstall the brake pipe bracket onto the mounting studs and secure it with the retaining nuts, tightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Support the lower control arm with a suitable jack.

The ABS wire harness.

Raise and support the vehicle.

The brake pipe bracket retaining nuts and the bracket from the mounting studs.

Remove the stabilizer shaft link lower nut and the stabilizer shaft link from the lower control arm, and detach the ABS wire harness.

Utilize the Ball Joint Separator (J 43631).

Remove the trailing link to frame nut and bolt, and take the trailing link out of the vehicle.

Remove and discard the upper control arm to frame mounting nuts and bolts.

Install the new upper control arm, ensuring to loosely install all fasteners before tightening.

Position the lower control arm on the ball stud and raise it to the cradle.

Raise the frame with a suitable jack and install the front bolts to the frame, tightening them to 265 N.m (195 lb ft).

Position the lower control arm back into the vehicle and install the cradle bolts.

Ensure the ball stud does not rotate during disassembly or reassembly by using hand tools.

The tire and wheel.

Raise the frame with a suitable jack and install the front bolts to the frame, tightening them to 265 Nm (195 ft. lbs.).

Tighten the power steering gear retaining bolts to 120 N.m (89 lb ft).
