How to replace the lower control arm (AWD) on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

To replace the lower Control Arm (AWD): raise and support your vehicle first. Given that it is now running, it is important to take out a tire and wheel, as well as the air deflector. Next, unbolt the stabilizer shaft link from the lower Control Arm and the Wheel Speed Sensor. It is essential that the ball stud does not rotate when dis-assembler or re-assembling it. Avoid rotation using hand tools. Disassembly: take off the lower ball joint nut and use the ball joint separator (J 43631) to remove the ball joint stud from Steering Knuckle. Take off the yoke from the stud on the lower Control Arm, follow this by loosening the power steering gear to let it rise for addition clearance for the rear lower Control Arm to frame retaining bolt. Take out the lower Control Arm to cradle nuts and bolts, then pull out the lower Control Arm from the vehicle. For installation, set the location of the new lower Control Arm and bolt into the cradle while checking to make sure that it is tightened using the lower Control Arm at the normal ride height for the vehicle. Mount the lower Control Arm to cradle nuts and secure using 135 n.m (96 lb ft). Move down to the lower Control Arm nut and install the shock module yoke to it, keeping the ball stud in a stationary position. Tighten the power steering gear retaining bolts. Mount the lower Control Arm ball joint nut and tighten it to 20. N.m (15 lb ft) with an additional 180 degrees. Replace the Wheel Speed Sensor with the stabilizer shaft link to the lower Control Arm, and the air deflector. Finally, replace the tire and wheel, depressurize the vehicle, and bring back the front end alignment.
