How to replace the upper control arm on 2009 Cadillac SRX?

To bring in the upper control arm, initially lift and support the vehicle, after which remove the tire and wheel. Then take off the upper control arm to knuckle retaining nut ensuring the ball stud does not turn during disassembly. In order to detangle the upper control arm from the knuckle use the J 43631 (Ball Joint Remover). Then, take off and throw away the upper control arm to frame mounting nuts and bolts followed by the removal of the upper control arm from the vehicle. For installation, install all fasteners loosely before tightening. Start with installation of upper control arm to vehicle and upper control arm to frame mounting bolts and nuts. Make sure that the upper control arm is attached to the knuckle adhering to fastener precautions, then attach the upper control arm to knuckle retaining nut that is to be tightened to 20Nm (15 lb ft) plus 210 degrees. Tighten the new upper control arm to frame bolts to 120 Nm (89 lb ft). Lastly, put back the tire and wheel and bring the vehicle down.
