How to replace the lower control arm (AWD) on 2007 Cadillac STS?

Project replacement of the lower Control Arm (AWD) by first elevating the vehicle and securing it then disassembling the tire and wheel and air deflector. Detach the stabilizer shaft link from the lower Control Arm by first removing its lower nut. Detach the abs wire harness from the lower Control Arm while maintaining the ball stud in position throughout both disassembly and reassembly. Hand tools instead of air tools should prevent ball stud rotation. Hand tools assist with stopping rotation during work because air tools can lead to component damage. Seize the lower ball joint nut and operate the ball joint separator (J 43631) to achieve joint placement separation between the ball joint stud and steering knuckle. First remove the shock yoke nut before removing the yoke from the lower Control Arm stud. Important: a power steering gear lift-up procedure provides space for the removal of the rear lower Control Arm frame bolting mechanism. Start by loosening retaining bolts from the power steering gear while raising it until you can remove lower Control Arm to cradle nuts and bolts before extracting the lower Control Arm from the vehicle. Install the lower Control Arm first then bolt the cradle in place after ensuring proper tightening of the vehicle-specific lower Control Arm bolts and nuts during normal ride height procedures. Put the lower Control Arm to cradle nuts and snug them to 135 n.m (96 lb ft) torque then secure the power steering gear retaining bolts to 120 n.m (89 lb ft). Spider the shock module yoke to the lower Control Arm nut then tighten it to 180 n.m (133 lb ft). Screw and torque the lower Control Arm ball joint nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) prior to turning it an extra 180 degrees. Screw in the stabilizer shaft link to the lower Control Arm while securing the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). To finalize the repair process install the air deflector followed by tire and wheel restoration then lower the vehicle and confirm proper front end alignment.
