2008 Chevrolet Corvette Oil Pressure Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine oil pressure switch on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The initial step to replace engine oil pressure sensor and switch requires removal of the left engine sight cover. Wipe down the surrounding area of the oil sensor and switch before starting work. Use the j41712 tool to remove the vacuum hose from the power Brake Booster before disconnecting the electrical connector that links the oil pressure sensor/switch. The oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712) allows the removal of oil pressure sensor/switch. Use threadlocker sealant whose part number matches the one in diagnostic starting point - engine mechanical when reinstalling the previous sensor. You should use the oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712) to install the oil pressure sensor/switch then tighten it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). After reconnecting the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor/switch you must reinstall the power Brake Booster vacuum hose and replace the left engine sight cover.
