2008 Chevrolet Express 2500 Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on a rear-wheel drive on 2008 Chevrolet Express 2500?
A: The job begins with lifting and supporting the vehicle to access the Wheel Hub system. Begin the replacement by removing tire wheel and rotor. First remove the Wheel Speed Sensor bolt before taking out both the Wheel Speed Sensor and Wheel Hub bearing. Take out the Wheel Hub part and bearing by removing their mounting bolts. Pull out the Wheel Hub, bearing, and splash shield from the Steering Knuckle region. You need to eliminate all marks and dirt from the Steering Knuckle bore as well as the hub and bearing before applying Wheel Bearing grease or a suitable replacement product inside the knuckle bore. Place the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly with splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle while keeping Wheel Hub and bearing mounting bolts correctly positioned. Use 180 n.m (133 lb ft) torque to tighten the bolts. Mount the Wheel Speed Sensor onto the Wheel Hub and bearing and fasten it with the retaining bolt at 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Put back the rotor, tire and wheel and lower the vehicle.
