How to replace the rear brake calipers on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

Before replacing the rear brake caliper check your brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level; lower the fluid to range from the midpoint to its full minimum without exceeding the maximum. Secure the vehicle elevated then detach the back tire and wheel system while keeping 2 wheel nuts snugly fastened to stabilize the rotor and hub. Apply a large c-clamp on top of the brake caliper while pressing it against the back of the outboard brake pad until the caliper piston reaches a position that allows easy removal of the caliper from the rotor surface. Take away the c-clamp and tighten the brake hose-to-caliper bolt through the procedure while throwing away the two brake hose copper gaskets. Put the rubber plug into the rear brake hose opening before taking the bolts 1 and 3 off the caliper and pulling the caliper out of the rotor and supporting frame. Replace damaged bolt boots when inspecting caliper bracket bolt boots for cuts and tears plus signs of wear. Test the caliper bolts for metal damage and corrosion then replace them with new parts. Put the caliper on top of the rotor and caliper bracket but ensure bushings are already in position. Apply silicone grease to the caliper bolts (1 and 3) by smearing the grease instead of putting it inside the threads. Also coat the 2 bolt boots (13 and 4) in the caliper bracket with lubricant. Secure the caliper bolts (1 and 3) tightly but avoid crushing the bolt boots for proper placement at 44 n.m (32 lb ft). Fit both brake hose gaskets on copper brake hose bolt then install it to brake caliper and tightly secure it at 54 n.m (40 lb ft). Unfasten and take off rotor lug nuts, add rear tire and wheel assembly before lowering the car. The brake system requires fresh brake fluid to reach the correct level and a complete bleed procedure with leak examination.
