How to Replace Rear Brake Calipers and Brackets on Chevrolet Impala?

First support the brake caliper using mechanical wire or an equivalent tool while it remains disconnected from its mount but the hydraulic flexible brake hose stays connected since operating otherwise will potentially cause hose damage and fluid leakage. Start the process by removing the caliper from its mounting bracket while maintaining hydraulic brake flexible hose connection. Later remove the current brake pads. Proceed by taking out both caliper bracket bolts followed by the caliper bracket. The installation process starts by scrubbing and examining the caliper bracket bolt threads and the knuckle mounting holes to make certain that clamp force will be adequate. Use threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to treat the threads of caliper bracket bolts before installing the bracket using these bolts which should be torqued to 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.). The last step involves the installation of rear brake pads followed by the caliper.
