  A: Before installation of the intermediate Steering Shaft (JL7) start by aligning front wheels straight while using the ignition switch but keeping the engine off. Secure the upper intermediate Steering Shaft to the upper intermediate Steering Shaft actuator boot by taping them together to avoid independent movement between the pieces. Pull out the lower intermediate Steering Shaft bolt then pull the lower intermediate Steering Shaft away from the steering gear. Use the passenger compartment to extract the complete lower, intermediate and upper steering shafts while you remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt. After installing all three steering shafts as an assembly through the passenger area check that correct seals fit properly on the engine side.
