How to replace the engine coolant thermostat (LF1/LLT) (3.6L) on 2009 Cadillac STS?

Engine coolant Thermostat (LF1/LLT) (3.6L) replacement begins with draining a portion of the cooling system. First detach the upper Intake Manifold while separating the surge tank outlet pipe from the Thermostat. Take away the coolant pipe/Thermostat housing bolt first followed by the coolant pipe upper bolt until you detach the coolant inlet pipe from the Thermostat. First remove all bolts securing the Thermostat then uninstall the Thermostat component while throwing away the original Thermostat seal. Install the new Thermostat while applying new Thermostat seal followed by tightening the Thermostat bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in). First install the coolant pipe with fresh seal and fasteners (2 and 3), after which attach the surge tank outlet pipe to the Thermostat. Reinstall the upper Intake Manifold after filling the cooling system.
