How to replace the front brake disc on 2009 Cadillac XLR?

You must lift the vehicle for support before removing the tire assembly and wheels. Apply a c-clamp on the brake caliper to push down the Piston until the caliper moves away from the Brake Disc before you remove the c-clamp. Secure the brake caliper using heavy mechanic wire to shield the hydraulic flexible brake hose from harm. After unbolt the caliper bracket while keeping the brake flexible hose intact, carefully remove the brake caliper assembly keeping the hose under no tension. You should verify that the Brake Disc lines up with the wheel studs before removing it. Use the cleaning tools j 42450-a to eliminate rust and debris from the hub/axle flange and j 41013 to clean the Brake Disc. Look for debris on the mating surfaces before you install the new Brake Disc by aligning it with the matchmark. After repairing brakes utilizing the disc check its assembled lateral runout (LRO) for proper functioning. Adjustments should be made to bring it within specified limits. After installing the brake caliper and bracket assembly to the suspension knuckle you can reinstall the tire and wheel assembly. After lowering the vehicle you can perform pad and disc burnishing when required.
