    Q:
How to replace the front brake disc on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the Brake Disc replacement process by raising and sustaining the vehicle. After taking out the wheel and tire set use the c-clamp tool number j40045-b to slow down the piston into the brake caliper until the disc clears from the caliper area. To protect the brake hose hang the brake caliper securely with mechanics wire after taking off the c-clamp. Take off both caliper bracket bolts but do not detach the brake flexible hose before removing the caliper assembly with its attachment. Keep clear of applying pressure to the hydraulic brake hose through this process. Use the matchmark to place the Brake Disc correctly on the wheel studs before taking it off. Clean both sides of the hub/axle flange and Brake Disc using wheel hub resurfacing kit and rotor resurfacing kit. Check both sides of the mating surface for any foreign elements before you put the new Brake Disc on the hub/axle flange just like how it was marked during installation. Record the lateral runout of the Brake Disc after installation but before any adjustments; when the measured alignment differs too much from the standard values correct it. Place the brake caliper back to the suspension knuckle and mount both pieces alongside the tire and wheel assembly. Position the vehicle in its normal position afterward you may smooth the brake pads and disc if necessary.
