The first step to replace the camshaft intermediate drive shaft is to eliminate its sprocket. The removal of the camshaft intermediate drive shaft must follow when you see indications of wear. Before the procedure remove the camshaft intermediate drive shaft retaining bolts followed by extracting the camshaft intermediate drive shaft from the engine. Thoroughly clean then inspect the camshaft intermediate drive shaft before installing it. Place the camshaft intermediate drive shaft on its alignment position by putting it into the engine. Screw the camshaft intermediate drive shaft retaining bolts before tightening them to 15 Nm (11 lb ft). Finish the installation by putting on the sprocket for the camshaft intermediate drive shaft.
