To remove the right Camshaft changes, start by pounding off the right Camshaft cover, and Camshaft Position Sensor. Rotate the Crankshaft to tdc of the #1 cylinder's compression stroke, ensuring both Camshaft sprocket drive pins are at the top of their rotation. Attach the j44212 (Camshaft Holding Tool over the camshafts) and, mark the Timing Chain link just next to each Camshaft sprocket timing mark with a paint stick. Mount both en 46327 (Timing Chain Retention Tool) to the engine by turning the wing nut to the top of its travel, with the bottom retention tool holding under the Cylinder Head in the vicinity of the right exhaust Camshaft sprocket and chain into a secondary Timing Chain link. Turn the wing nut around until it meets the retention tool block and refrain from tightening it, repeat the process for the next upper part retention tool nearest to the right intake Camshaft sprocket and chain. In turn, apply a pinch or two on both wing nuts for security of the chain. Use an open wrench to bear down on the hex set into the camshafts so that they can be removed when you remove the Camshaft sprocket bolts and then Camshaft sprockets. Release the Camshaft bearing cap bolts in zigzag manner, until all pressure of the valve spring is lowered, Camshaft bearing caps, and j 44212 are removed from the camshafts and camshafts, and their followers. Clean and inspect the camshafts. For installation, lubricate the roller pivot pocket and valve slot sites of the Camshaft followers, insert them on the valve tip and fixed hydraulic lash adjusters, and clean the Camshaft carriers. Oiling the Camshaft carriers, Camshaft lobes, and the Camshaft journals and set the Camshaft in the carriers with the sprocket drive pins in the upper end of their rotation. Make sure the markings on Camshaft bearingcaps are correctly oriented, apply lubricateto Camshaft bearing caps, and fix them as peridentification marks. Hand tighten the Camshaft bearing cap bolts until up against the shoulder and then tighten to 5 nm (44 lb in) and 30 additional degrees using the j 45059 (Angle Meter). After aligning the camshafts, fit the j44212 over them and make sure that the Camshaft sprockets are in proper alignment with the drive pins. Mount the Camshaft sprockets with the help of the paint marks made during disassembly, and use the open wrench to avoid rotating Camshaft while applying the Camshaft sprocket bolts up to 120 nm (89 lb ft). Take out en 46327, check the Camshaft sprocket alignment, and take the j 44212 out. Finally, install the cam position sensor and the right cam cover.
