You should start boot replacement by removing the outer tie rod and
Rack And Pinion gear from the vehicle. Remove the small and large seal retaining clamps from the Rack and Pinion Boot by using side cutters. Pull the Rack and Pinion Boot firmly from the gear while discarding it but avoid cutting the boot end and prevent placing a screwdriver between the boot and tie rod. Apply grease to all new Rack and Pinion Boot ribs while matching the boot arrows with the gear housing range. Position the new large seal retaining clamp onto the Rack and Pinion Boot before placing the boot over the inner
Tie Rod End while aligning the boot's arrows with the equipment's range . Use the new small seal retaining clamp to cover the boot and push the boot until it fits into the center of the gear assembly's inner tie rod retaining groove. On the Rack and Pinion Boot use j22610 keystone clamp pliers (J22610) to crimp the large seal retaining clamp while maintaining a smooth boot shape without any twisting or puckering. Adjust boot placement by hand before installing boot clamps (3,4). Crimp the small seal retaining clamp to the inner tie rod assembly with j22610 keystone clamp pliers before rehanging the Rack And Pinion gear together with the outer tie rod.
