Buick Rainier Wiper Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper arm on Buick Rainier?
A: Removing the Wiper Arm requires two steps: first remove the cover from the Wiper Arm's nut before holding the Wiper Arm to remove its nut. Apply inward pressure at the Wiper Arm pivot to gain loose separation from the Drive Shaft then continue with removal steps. If the Wiper Arm does not come off a battery terminal puller will be needed as an additional removal tool. After loosening the Wiper Arm from its pivot shaft position remove it completely along with the Wiper Arm blade from the arm itself. Run a wire brush on the Drive Shaft knurls until clean. Begin Wiper Blade installation by putting the Wiper Arm blade onto the Wiper Arm followed by placing the Wiper Arm on the Drive Shaft. Use the windshield blackout dots to align the Wiper Arm blade then fasten the Drive Shaft nut until it reaches 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque. The wiper function should be checked after you replace the cover on the nut.
