    A:
Service and repair of the Antenna Cable begins with radio disassembly and removal of heater/ac control assembly and Center Console and right side insulator panel. Follow the route of body electrical harnesses in the instrument panel before removing the Antenna Cable from the instrument panel body electrical harness. You should start by removing the right side carpet retainer then pulling back the carpet to get access to the body electrical harness situated on the floor. The body electrical harness retainer on the right side of the vehicle needs opening to extract the Antenna Cable from the body electrical harness. Start by taking out the Antenna Cable from the body electrical harness through the conduit followed by removing both the body electrical harness from the conduit and the Antenna Cable from the body electrical harness before guiding it into the rear compartment. Before removing the vehicle disconnect the Antenna Cable from the power Antenna and extract it from the electrical harness within the back compartment. The installation process starts with Antenna Cable vehicle connection followed by rear-to-passenger compartment cable guidance before connecting it to the power Antenna. After securing the Antenna Cable to the body wiring harness with electrical tape add and install first the body electrical harness/Antenna Cable to its conduit followed by the Antenna Cable to body electrical harness inside the passenger compartment with necessary coaxial cable securement through electrical tape use. The body electrical harness/Antenna Cable needs to connect to the wiring retainer located on the right side of the vehicle where the Antenna Cable must connect to the wiring harness on the floor. Secure the coaxial cable with electrical tape as needed. To finish the repair process install the right side carpet first followed by the right side carpet retainer and Antenna Cable attachment to the instrument panel electrical harness and wrap the coaxial cable with electrical tape when needed before securing the electrical harness to the instrument panel and using the electrical harness retainer. Reinstall the right side insulator panel while installing the Center Console followed by the radio and heater/ac control assembly.
  • Q: How to replace the antenna cable on Cadillac Eldorado?
    A:
Start the Antenna cable replacement by taking out the radio and heater/ac control assembly then moving on to the Center Console and right side insulator panel. Note where the body electrical harness runs through the instrument panel before disconnecting the body electrical harness from its retainer and taking out the Antenna cable. To work on the body electrical harness on the floor start by taking out the right side carpet retainer and pulling back the carpet. There you will find the body electrical harness retainer on the right side of the vehicle that allows you to access and extract the Antenna cable from its harness. After you have removed the body electrical harness from the conduit disconnect the Antenna cable from the harness. Follow the Antenna cable into the rear compartment to disconnect it from the power Antenna then remove it from the electrical harness inside the rear compartment. First install the Antenna cable to your vehicle then guide it from the rear compartment to the passenger compartment until it reaches the power Antenna. Fasten the Antenna cable to the body wiring harness with electrical tape if required before placing the body electrical harness/Antenna Cable into the conduit alignment and body harness within the passenger area while using electrical tape to bind the coaxial wires. Secure the body electrical harness/Antenna Cable to the wiring retainer on the right side of the vehicle while also reconnecting the Antenna cable to the wiring harness on the floor using new electrical tape as appropriate. Reinstallation requires the right side carpet followed by the right side carpet retainer then the Antenna cable attached to the instrument panel electrical harness and wrapped with new electrical tape. Installation of the electrical harness on the instrument panel follows by retaining the electrical harness with the retainer before reinstalling the right side insulator panel with the Center Console and radio and heater a/c control assembly.
