- Q: How to replace the front disc brake pads on the 2500 Series on Cadillac Escalade ESV?A:In order to change the front disc brake pads on the 2500 series, the first step is to check the level of fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir; if the level is above the midpoint between maximum-full and minimum allowable points, stop up fluid to the point of midway. Lift up the vehicle and take away the tire and wheel assembly. Use two large c-clamps through the brake caliper pistons while lifting the two caliper pistons using the clamps on the back side of the outboard Brake Pad, trying to push until the two pistons are fully retracted. Take out the brake caliper guide pin bolts and be sure to secure the caliper with heavy mechanic wire to prevent hydraulic flexible brake hose damage.
