The Parking Brake Cable release tool (J 37043) will help you press the locking retainer of the intermediate park brake cable housing to separate the cable from its Floor Pan bracket. The following steps should be performed: extract the park brake cable guide nut from the mounting stud and take away both the park brake cable guide bolt and Floor Pan park cable guides. Start by detaching the intermediate cable both from the rear equalizer and from the right rear park brake cable connector followed by releasing the intermediate cable housing from the rear cable housing retaining bracket by pressing the locking retainer. Take out the intermediate cable from the parked vehicle. During installation route the intermediate park brake cable through the park brake cable retaining bracket while making sure it fits properly.
