Expanding the availability of tools needed to repair the expansion block/A/C Orifice Tube includes the usage of halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) and A/C Orifice Tube remover (J 26549-E). The process starts with recovery of refrigerant followed by removal of the air cleaner assembly together with vacuum
Brake Booster and condenser tube. The A/C Orifice Tube remover (J 26549-E) can separate the expansion tube from the system. Examine the tube for a broken plastic frame and examine the inlet filter for damage and metal debris buildup; replace or reuse the tube along with cleaning the filter with low-pressure shop air by avoiding repeated use of o-ring seals. Rephrase the o-ring seals before installation by applying mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. To reinstall the A/C Orifice Tube, install new o-ring seals before you insert the expansion tube into the condenser tube without coming in contact with the inlet filter while reassembly includes returning the condenser tube and vacuum Brake Booster and air cleaner assembly. Evacuation and recharging of the a/c system should follow testing the fittings with halogen leak detector (J39400-A).
