A: When wanting to replace the lh front lower Control Arm on a car, the mechanic must remove from the vehicle, the front suspension cross member, the bans support, the 2 lower control arms along with the front stabilizer shaft entire unit. Start with the installation of the engine support fixture and lift the vehicle. First, remove the front tire and wheel assembly and then the support brace of the suspension and the stabilizer shaft if it is available. Remove the lower Control Arm by removing 1 bolt and 2 nuts, then remove 4 bolts (1, 8, 9, 11), 1 nut , the front lower Control Arm Bracket , the front lower Control Arm. For installation secure the front lower Control Arm with bolt but do not tighten then attach the stabilizer shaft and link if applicable and secure it with a nut but do not tighten. Install low er Control Arm Bracket front to the cross member and tighten nut, with 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.). By fitting, install front stabilizer insulator clamp and tighten nut to 19 nm (14 ft lbs.). Mount the 4 bolts (3, 8, 9, 11), but do not tighten them, and insert the lower Control Arm components. 2 nuts and 1 bolt tightened to 142 nm (105 ft. Lbs.). Re-install the suspension support brace and its 2 nuts (4, 6) and tighten the nuts to the torque of 69 nm (51 ft lbs). Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, and lower the vehicle, making sure that it is held by the tires and wheels. Lift the vehicle on a drive-on lift or alignment rack, holding the front bumper and press down to stabilize the suspension. Then, apply the following torques bolt torqued to 175 nm (129 ft. Lbs.), bolt torqued to 215 nm (158 ft. Lbs.), bolt torqued to 225 nm (167 ft. Lbs.), bolt torqued to 147 nm (109 ft. Lbs.), and bolt torqued to 123 nm (91 ft. Lbs.). Hold the stabilizer shaft link stud using a 5 mm hex wrench and tighten the stabilizer shaft link nut to 44 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Lastly, take the engine support fixture away, directly put the library card into alignment rack measurement, anchor it if required, and take the library vehicle out of alignment rack.
