In order to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1, lift and support the vehicle first. Pull out the HO2S from the clips, and disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. For automobiles that have engine of 4.8L or 5.3L, remove the HO2S electric connector; For those of 6.0L engine, you should do the same. Remove the HO2S. During installation, if replacing the old sensor, apply anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 to the threads since this compound, which consist of liquid graphite and glass beads allows for easier removal. Mount the HO2S and apply a torque of 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Connect the HO2S electrical connector for the 6.0L engine thereafter the connection of the 4.8L or 5.3L engine. Reinstall the HO2S to the clips, remove CPA retainer and lower the vehicle.
