  The first step to work on the Oil Pan begins with disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. First remove the engine mount struts from the engine before you disconnect the A/C Compressor mounting bolts and place the compressor to one side. Attach the j30296-b engine support fixture to the vehicle and then lift and secure the vehicle. Drain engine oil while disconnecting the catalytic converter pipe from its position between the engine right side Exhaust Manifold. Start by disconnecting the oil sensor wiring harness and then work on removing the Starter motor. Remove the transaxle brace from Oil Pan and transaxle mount lower nuts followed by engine mount lower nuts. Use the engine support fixture (J30296-B) to lift the engine in order to remove the Oil Pan. Start by using the torque wrench adapter (J 39505) to disconnect the engine right side Oil Pan side bolts so you can remove both the Oil Pan and gasket. Thoroughly clean surfaces of the Oil Pan and engine block gasket before reinstalling. The torque wrench adapter (J 39505) helps you install the engine right side Oil Pan side bolts before putting on the Oil Pan Gasket and Oil Pan. You must use the engine support fixture (J30296-B) to lower the engine. After lowering the engine, install the transaxle mount lower nuts, engine mount lower nuts and transaxle brace against the Oil Pan. Install the Starter motor and the oil level sensor wiring harness connection followed by connecting the catalytic converter pipe to the engine right side Exhaust Manifold. After removing the engine support fixture (J30296-B) you will install the A/C Compressor and the engine mount struts while lowering the vehicle. Last step involves adding oil to the engine while putting the battery ground (negative) cable back in place.

  To change the Oil Pan, you begin by removing the battery ground (negative) cable and removing the engine mount struts off the engine. Install the engine support fixture (J28467-360) and lift the vehicle. Loosen the mounting bolts for the A/C Compressor, reposition the A/C Compressor, and connect the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right Exhaust Manifold. Drain off the engine oil, disconnect the oil level sensor's wire harness, remove the Starter motor, and unbolt the transaxle brace from the Oil Pan. Loosen the nuts on the transaxle mount lower and the engine mount lower then drop the vehicle. Put the engine support fixture (J28467-360) to lift the engine again and support the vehicle. Take off the engine mount bracket along with the engine mount from the Oil Pan, disconnect the right hand lower Ball Joint and outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle, and loosen the left side frame bolts while taking out the 1st right side frame bolts. Finally, put on the durastall washer scare (E43379) torque wrench adapter (J39505) and expel (remove) right Oil Pan side bolus and afterward (appear to) the left Oil Pan side bolus and Oil Pan retaining bolus before expelling the Oil Pan and gasket. Clean the Oil Pan and the engine block gasket surface, apply sealant on the rear main bearing cap and engine block, fitted the Oil Pan Gasket, and followed by Oil Pan. Tighten the Oil Pan retaining to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.), after that the left Oil Pan side bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) use the torque wrench adapter (J39505) to tighten the right Oil Pan side bolts, tighten to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Increase the left side frame bolts, install the right side frame bolts, reconnect the right-hand lower Ball Joint and outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle. Lower the engine using the engine support fixture (J28467-360) after installing the engine mount bracket with engine mount to the Oil Pan and lowering your vehicle. Lift and support the vehicle once again, install the lower nuts of the transaxle mount and engine mounts and attach the transaxle brace onto the Oil Pan and re-install the Starter motor. Connect the oil level sensor harness back, the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right Exhaust Manifold, and the A/C Compressor. Finally, reduce the vehicle, remove the engine support fixture (J28467-360), engine support fixture adapter (J28467-90A), and engine support adapter leg (J36462-A), install the engine mount struts on the engine, fill the engine with new oil to its markers, and connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
