    Q:
How to replace the accessory drive belt on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by removing the air cleaner assembly followed by the retaining bolt from the coolant recovery reservoir before setting them aside. Using a breaker bar along with a hex-head socket on the Drive Belt tensioner bolt enables users to rotate it clockwise until the belt tension decreases. The belt must be taken off the pulleys followed by the Drive Belt tensioner before gradually letting tension out of the Drive Belt tensioner then removing the breaker bar together with the socket. Check and cleanse all the pulley belt surfaces. The installation process begins with running the Drive Belt around all pulleys except the idler pulley followed by inserting a breaker bar with hex-head socket onto the belt tensioner bolt for clockwise motion which relieves tension. Hook the Drive Belt to the idler pulley after which you can gradually open the tension on the belt tensioner to remove the breaker bar and socket. Make sure the Drive Belt has correct installation and correct alignment while positioning the coolant recovery reservoir and securing the retaining bolt at 11 nm (97 inch lbs.) tightness before reinstalling the air cleaner assembly.
