    Q:
How to replace the hydraulic brake booster on Cadillac Escalade ESV? Posted by Customer
    A:
Wheels should be blocked and the park brake activated before commencing replacement of the hydraulic Brake Booster. Detach the inlet hose together with the steering gear and return hoses from the booster assembly while keeping the master cylinder pipes intact. First remove the nuts connecting the master cylinder to the hydraulic booster then set the master cylinder in the engine compartment. Begin by removing the stop lamp switch after which you need to take out the 4 booster to bulkhead nuts before you can extract the booster assembly plus its gasket. The installation process requires you to place the new gasket first before setting up the booster assembly. Secure the four booster to bulkhead nuts using a 33 n.m torque setting (24 lb ft). Fasten the master cylinder to the Brake Booster while tightening all nuts to 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Finally, reinstall the stop lamp switch. After connection of the return hose to the steering gear and inlet hoses you must complete the hydraulic booster system bleed procedure. Before moving on release the park brake along with unblocking the wheels.

    Q:
How to replace the vacuum brake booster on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
Apply park brake and empty vacuum reserve through three hard Brake Pedal presses before starting work. Pull off the electrical plugs for dod sensor and active booster. Then disconnect the vacuum line attached to the check valve. Secure the master cylinder with heavy mechanics wire and keep its vacuum seal in place while taking off its two mounting nuts. First unscrew the retainer for the Pushrod then take off the stop lamp switch and Pushrod from the Brake Pedal. Pull out the Brake Booster mounting nuts before you remove and replace the Brake Booster with its old gasket discarded. Positioning a new Brake Booster gasket properly requires an assistant to hold the booster as you thread up the upper right nut first followed by the remaining nut installation steps. Secure Brake Booster nuts to 33 n.m (24 lb ft) while installing Pushrod and stop lamp switch back onto Brake Pedal. Complete assembly with the Pushrod retaining clip. Push the vacuum hose into place at its destination on the check valve and plug in all electronic components including the dod sensor and active booster connector. Reposition the master cylinder last and fasten it with two nuts you secure at 33 n.m point (24 lb ft).

    Q:
How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on GMC Yukon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by setting the parking brake and exhaust the vacuum supply by pressing the Brake Pedal three times until it becomes solid. Separate the electrical wires connected to the dod sensor and active booster before removing the vacuum hose from the check valve and taking out the master cylinder nuts while maintaining the connection between brake pipes and the master cylinder. Secure the master cylinder out of the way using mechanics wire before you eliminate the Brake Booster pushrod retainer bolt and both the pushrod retainer and stoplamp switch . Disconnect the pushrod from its Brake Pedal fastening and take out the Brake Booster through its mounting nuts while discarding the gasket. Set the new Brake Booster gasket in place then position the power vacuum Brake Booster with help during installation. Begin by tightening both right-upper and Brake Booster nuts to 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Thread the Brake Booster pushrod into the Brake Pedal pivot hole while adding the stoplamp switch, Brake Booster pushrod retainer, and bolt. Tighten the bolt sequentially to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the vacuum hose from the check valve to its proper position while attaching electrical connections to both sensors. Then install the master cylinder by hand and tighten its nuts to 33 n.m (24 lb ft).
