Air Filter

The first step for air cleaner replacement involves dismantling the air cleaner intake duct. Start by removing the side cover of the air cleaner area containing the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Remove the Air Filter from inside the air cleaner housing. To install the Air Filter, put it back into the air cleaner housing and then put on the intake duct and lastly attach the side cover with maf sensor.

Before servicing the Air Filter, first turn off the ignition and disconnect the iat sensor electrical connector and the maf sensor electrical connector. Disconnect the hose clamps of the air intake duct/maf sensor hose and disassemble the air intake duct/maf sensor assembly. Taking caution, unhook air inlet hose with Throttle Body and air cleaner cover, unclip 2 housing cover retaining clamps to remove air cleaner cover and Air Filter. Examine the housing cover, seal assembly, and air duct for damage and repair where required. For installation, ensure a gentle placement of the Air Filter in the air cleaner assembly, reattach the housing cover and its retaining screws, reattach the air inlet hose to the Throttle Body and the air cleaner housing, and tighten the air inlet hose clamp. Then, install the air intake duct/maf sensor assembly, and then tighten hose clamps on the air intake duct/maf sensor hose - connect electrical connector to maf sensor, electrical connector to iat sensor.

First disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connector then remove the air duct using clamp release tools. Before access to the Air Filter, users must unclip both air cleaner cover retaining clamps, remove the air cleaner cover and proceed with care. A thorough inspection of the housing cover and seal assembly plus air ducting reveals potential damage which requires replacement of defective components. Once installed, position the Air Filter into the air cleaner assembly before installing the air cleaner housing cover and tightening housing cover retaining clamps. Tighten the air inlet hose clamp to 2 n.m (18 lb in) after reinstalling both the Throttle Body inlet hose and air cleaner cover. The iat sensor electrical connector must be connected last.

Service of the Air Filter starts with disconnecting the electrical connectors of the iat sensor and maf sensor. Disconnect the iat sensor electrical connector and maf sensor electrical connector while loosening clamps on the air intake duct/maf sensor hose assembly. Begin by disconnecting the air inlet hose from the Throttle Body and air cleaner cover. You can then remove the two housing cover retaining clamps before taking off the air cleaner cover and Air Filter. Check housing cover and seal assembly and air ducting for damage, replacing components when needed. After putting the Air Filter into the air cleaner assembly you should install the housing cover while tightening retaining screws. Secure the air inlet hose back to both the Throttle Body and air cleaner cover while tightening its clamp. Place the air intake duct/maf sensor assembly and then tighten all hose clamps. The installation process includes reattaching both the maf sensor electrical connector and the iat sensor electrical connector.

First remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the air cleaner intake duct after disconnecting the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector. Start by separating the electrical connector of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and release the air cleaner intake duct hose clamp. Start by removing the air cleaner intake duct from the Throttle Body before you unclip its 2 air cleaner cover clips to detach the air cleaner cover and adjacent duct assembly. Slide out the Air Filter that sits inside the air cleaner assembly. To reinstall the Air Filter into the assembly you should first put it into place before applying the air cleaner cover with air cleaner intake duct and sealing it using the two air cleaner cover clips. Fasten the air cleaner intake duct to the Throttle Body then secure it by tightening the clamp to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Connect maf sensor's electrical connector while reinstalling the pcv tube back into the air cleaner intake duct before final connection of iat sensor electrical connector.

In servicing the Air Filter, first turn off the ignition and disconnect the iat sensor electric connector, breather tube from the air intake duct, and maf sensor electric connector. Loose the air intake duct/maf sensor hose clamps, and carefully remove the air inlet hose off the Throttle Body and the air cleaner cover. Remove the 2 housing cover retaining clamps, away the air cleaner cover, and carefully remove the Air Filter. Examine the housing cover, seals assembly, and air ducting for possible damages. For installation, it is recommended to first insert the Air Filter into the air cleaner assembly, while installing the housing cover and tightening using the housing cover retaining screws. Reconnect the air inlet hose to the Throttle Body and air cleaner cover by tightening the air inlet hose clamp. Mount and clamp the air intake duct/maf sensor assembly with the air intake duct/maf sensor hose clamps. Lastly, attach the breather tube to the air intake duct, the maf sensor electrical connector, and the iat sensor electrical connector.

Carefully take off the air cleaner cover and remove the air filter element.

Place the filter element back into the air cleaner housing.

Take off the 2 housing cover retaining clamps and the air cleaner cover.

Reattach the air cleaner cover and secure it by clipping the four retaining fasteners.

Take out the air cleaner element from the air cleaner assembly.

Reattach the air cleaner housing cover and secure it with the retaining clamps.

Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the air cleaner intake duct.

Reattach the air inlet hose to the throttle body and air cleaner cover, tightening the air inlet hose clamp.

Reinstall the air cleaner intake duct.
