    Q:
How to replace the rear seat back cover and Seat Cushion Pad on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
First remove the rear seat before continuing with the replacement of the seat back cover and pad. Next, remove the seat back folding cover only if needed and any installed armrest. The first step requires detachment of head restraints from the seat back followed by removing seat back plastic cover from the seat back frame when needed. Detach the j-clips from the seat back cover while removing the hook and loop strips which maintain the seat back cover on the foam pad. A piece of cardboard should be used to make foam pad removal easier before gently raising the seat back cover from the foam pad while moving from side to side. To put the seat back cover in place, put the foam pad underneath then remove the cardboard before attaching the hook and loop strips that hold the seat back cover in position. Proceed by using the j-clips to secure the seat back cover before adding the seat back plastic cover to the frame only when present. Then reinstall the head restraints followed by replacing the armrest if it had been removed. Reinstall the seat back folding cover at its proper position only if you had to remove it earlier before returning the rear seat back to its normal position in the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the Seat Cushion Pad and trim cover on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for seat cushion trim cover and pad replacement starts underneath the cushion where front nuts need removal before moving on to front seat trim panel extraction. You should detach both the lumbar cable and the lumbar wire harness from power lumbar seats. The front passenger seat frame with its pressure sensor should be disassembled from its electrical connectors when it concerns the Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System. First detach the seat cushion from its rear plastic holders by pulling forwards and after that remove the seat switch bezel along with the lumbar actuator . Release the seat trim cover from the seat cushion frame before pulling away the seat cushion pad from the cushion while moving from side to side. The Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System needs replacement as a complete assembly for front passenger seat cushion replacement because its bladder, pressure sensor, seat cushion and control module work together after calibration. Carefully detach the seat pad along with its heater element that might be present. First install the seat cushion heater element if equipment allows while always ignoring the Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System in the installation process. Following seat cushion pad attachment to the frame you must slide the seat cushion cover from the sides onto the frame pad structure. The seat trim cover requires attachment to its frame before installing the lumbar actuator and the seat switch bezel. Insert and push backward the cushion onto the plastic holders located at its rear. First install the lumbar cable followed by the lumbar wire harness when power lumbar is present. Then install the pressure sensor to the front passenger seat frame if appropriate. The electrical hookups should be joined allowing the front nuts to be installed onto underside cushion studs followed by tightening lug nuts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft). Complete the installation by putting on the front seat trim panel then re-initialize the Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System.

    Q:
How to service the rear Seat Cushion Pad for both the 60/40 Split and 50/50 Split configurations on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service of the rear seat cushion starts by removing the seat cushion trim cover as well as the pad for the 60/40 Split and 50/50 Split configurations. Use the folding mechanism extraction to take out bolts which secure the hinge assembly. The seat cushion frame should be next to remove. First position the seat cushion frame with care according to the instructions in the Fastener Notice within Service Precautions. Make sure to install and tighten the hinge assembly bolts to 7 N.m (61 lb in) after removing bolts from installation. Fasten the seat cushion trim cover along with the pad into their original positions.

    Q:
How to replace the Seat Cushion Pad and trim cover on Chevrolet Suburban 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of replacing seat cushion trim cover and pad begins with removal of seat trim panel followed by the outboard seat belt anchor nut uninstallation and seat belt pull-through the seat cushion. The process requires removal of the two front nuts from beneath the seat cushion and unsnap of the lumbar cable followed by disconnection of the power lumbar wire harness when power lumbar is present. First disconnect all the electrical connectors before lifting off the seat cushion from the rear plastic holders by pulling forward. Principally remove the lumbar actuator along with the seat switch bezel before unclipping the seat trim cover that extends to the seat cushion frame. The seat cushion pad separation from the frame requires a gentle side movement to free the trim cover before removing the pad from its frame. The heater element must be extracted from the seat cushion. First place the seat cushion heater element (if equipped) then install the seat cushion pad onto the seat cushion frame. Pull the seat cushion cover onto the frame pad while performing side motions then attach the seat trim cover to the cushion frame. Reinstall the lumbar actuator and seat switch bezel before placing the cushion on the rear plastic holders where it should be pushed into position. Fasten first the lumbar cable then the lumbar wire harness if the vehicle has these components and continue with the electrical connector installation. Place the front studs under the cushion bottom and fasten its two nuts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft) torque. Use the seat belt to thread to the seat cushion followed by the installation of the outboard seat belt anchor nut while tightening it to 53 N.m (39 lb ft). The last installation step involves putting back the seat trim panel.

    Q:
How to replace the rear seat back Seat Cushion Pad and cover on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Besides the belt latch plates one needs a drift punch or equivalent tool to press the belt buckle release hole while pulling the safety belt. Press the seat handle near the back then push the seat forward before lifting it out from the rails mounted on the floor. To install the seat you should place it into your vehicle so the attaching points fit correctly into floor rail slots. The front portion of seat risers needs to enter the floor rail pins while pushing the seat to lock its position. After securing the front part the seat should be rolled backward until it reaches its proper position. The installation of the lap/shoulder belt quick release latch plate requires inserting it into the Seat Belt buckle then pushing the latch plate until it locks within the buckle.

How to Replace the Seat Cushion Pad on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Car owners need to remove the seat before proceeding with luxury, limited, or z-71 tahoe seat cushion trim cover and pad replacements. They should start by detaching the 6-way power Seat Switch Panel with its screws and the recliner release handle. A person should lift the lower part of the seatback cover to reveal the recliner bolts and hinge before removing the power seat track and discharging the seat heater electrical connection. The seat cushion starts its removal by removing both the seat cushion cover as well as the seat cushion itself. Begin by placing the seat cushion back in proper position and afterward install the seat cushion cover . Reconnect the electric rail of the seat heater after reinstalling both the power seat track and the recliner release handle. Use screws to fasten the 6-way power Seat Switch Panel before placing the seat correctly back into its vehicle position.

    Q:
How to replace the rear 60/40 split Seat Cushion Pad and cover on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First remove the rear passenger seat from the vehicle then uninstall the rear passenger seat riser as the first step in cushion cover and pad replacement of the 60/40 split configuration. First detach the seat back from the seat cushion and extract the three hog rings from the rear position of the seat cushion cover. The process begins by removing the seat belt buckles together with every hog ring used for securing the seat cushion cover toward the seat cushion frame . Hook and loop strips need to be released from the foam pad support before removing the seat cushion cover off the foam pad. You should start the installation process by putting the seat cushion cover onto the foam pad and activating the hook and loop strips. Replace all seat buckles onto their correct positions while using hog rings to bind the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame . Reinstall the seat back to the seat cushion then install rear passenger seat risers before putting back the rear passenger seat inside the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the rear seat back cushion cover and Seat Cushion Pad in an Extended Cab with a 4th Door on GMC Yukon XL 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A technician must start seat back cushion replacement by removing the armrest and taking out the head restraints prior to working on an extended cab with a 4th door. Move on to the bottom edge of the seat back cover before detaching the hook and loop strips which maintain the seat back cover to the seat back foam pad. A piece of cardboard should be inserted to separate the seat back cover from the foam pad before carefully lifting away the seat back cover from the foam pad by moving it from side to side. The installation process requires seating the cover over the foam pad and removing cardboard before connecting the hook and loop strips for seat back cover attachment. Widen your approach by fitting the bottom seat back cover portion next. At this point you should both reattach head restraints and reposition the armrest onto the seat.
