    Q:
How to replace the oil pan on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the Oil Pan, first you have to disconnect the engine front cover, then disconnect the power steering hose retainer from the A/C Compressor bracket and disconnect the intermediate Steering Shaft. Next, remove the Engine Mount lower nuts, being careful not to sever the a/c pipes or hoses, and reposition the A/C Compressor bracket taking off the bolts of the same. Drain the engine oil and remove the pipe retainer of the transmission oil cooler from the right side of the engine. Mount the engine support fixture and tighten wing nuts of this fixture for clearance of the oilpan, remove the Oil Pan. In case needed, disassemble, clean and inspect the Oil Pan. For installation, fitting the Oil Pan as necessary, then install it and loosen the engine support fixture wing nuts in order to lower the engine and engage in the engine mounts on that frame before taking out the engine support fixture. Clip the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer and fill the engine with new engine oil and the A/C Compressor bracket with the A/C Compressor. Finally, put on the Engine Mount lower nuts, reconnect the intermediate Steering Shaft, install the power steering hose from the retainer to the A/C Compressor bracket and end by installing the engine front cover.
