How to service and repair the trailing arm on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before servicing and repairing the trailing arm, lift and support the vehicle. Unbolt the tire and wheel assembly and then get rid of the ABS electrical harness. Next, unbolt the trailing arm from the knuckle as well as remove the trailing arm bracket to take the trailing arm off. Installation on the trailing arm to the trailing arm bracket should be done with a proper installation of the bracket bolt/screw and nut and installing the bracket nut to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs). Connect the trailing arm to the knuckle, tightening the trailing arm to knuckle nut to 70Nm +65 degrees (52 ft.lb + 65 degrees). Reconnect the ABS electric harnesrt, fit the tire and wheel assembly, and finally lower the motor vehicle. The tools required to carry out this procedure are the Torque Angle Meter (J 36660-A).
