    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to take out the Camshaft and Camshaft roller followers before starting your Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring replacement. Attach the front unit of the j 43649 valve spring compressor to the second bolt hole on the Camshaft cover before placing other parts from j 43649 onto the Cylinder Head. Manipulate the Spark Plug hole by adding an Air Hose adapter before connecting an Air Hose and applying 690 kpa (100 psi) compressed air through it. Pressurize the valve spring using the valve spring compressor j 43649 tool and remove the valve spring keepers and components. The valve guide seal remover tool (Part J 36017) removes the valve seal effectively. Install the new valve seal into the guide using the valve guide seal remover tool (J 36017) until it makes full contact with the guide. To finish the replacement put the valve spring and valve spring retainer inside before compressing the valve spring with the valve spring compressor (J 43649) tool and setting up the valve spring keepers. Disengage the Air Hose from the adapter to take out the Air Hose adapter from the Spark Plug opening. Take out the valve spring compressor tool j 43649 from the Cylinder Head space and fit in the spark plugs. Now put back the Camshaft roller followers followed by the Camshaft.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on valve spring replacement set a mechanism to lock the Crankshaft and use compressed air in the cylinder safely without risk of flywheel holding tool (J 43653) damage. Park the car in first gear for manual transmissions and use the parking brake while keeping the automatic transmissions without the Starter installed. Fit the flywheel holding tool (J 43653) then take out the Camshaft system and its roller followers. Secure the front section of valve spring compressor j43649 into the second bolt hole at the Camshaft cover and place other parts onto the Cylinder Head. Connect an Air Hose adapter to the Spark Plug hole and insert the spark plugs into the port. After attaching an Air Hose push 690 kpa (100 psi) of air into the cylinder. Change the valve spring position with j 43649 and then extract the valve spring parts including keepers. Insert the valve guide seal remover (part J 36017) to remove the valve seal and replace it with a new valve seal using the same tool until it sits completely on the valve guide. Push valve spring back into position after placing valve retainers with the valve spring compressor (J 43649). Disconnect the Air Hose adapter then remove the valve spring compressor tool j 43649 from the Cylinder Head position. Replace all spark plugs and insert the Camshaft roller followers along with the Camshaft. Replace the Starter when you take away the flywheel holding tool (J 43653) as needed.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of replacing the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring needs these specific tools: valve guide seal remover (EN-36017), valve spring compressor (EN-43649), valve spring compressor adaptor set (EN-43649-10), and flywheel holding tool (EN-43653). Keep the Crankshaft stationary before you start working with compressed air in the cylinder space. Manual transmission cars should stay in first gear while depressed on the parking brake. To access an automatic transmission you must take out its Starter unit first. Place the flywheel holding tool (EN-43653) first before removing the Camshaft and Camshaft roller followers. Insert the valve spring compressor adaptor set (EN-43649-10) onto the cylinder head before positioning the cross bars and locks of valve spring compressor (EN-43649). Plug the Spark Plug holes and connect an air hose adapter onto the Spark Plug port. Inflate the cylinder to 690 kpa (100 psi) with the air pressure source. Pressurize the cylinder at 690 kpa using the valve spring compressor (EN-43649) and then use it to decompress the valve spring. The valve guide seal remover helps to properly install a new valve seal by pressing it fully against the working surface. Put back the valve spring and retainer while compressing the spring once more and adding valve spring keepers. Unplug the air hose and take out the valve spring compressor tool model en-43649 and its matching adaptor set en-43649-10 from the engine's top. Put back the spark plugs and put the Camshaft roller followers and Camshaft unit together. If needed install the Starter once you have taken the flywheel holding tool (EN-43653) out of your vehicle.
