    The first step for transmission position switch/sensor repair or servicing of 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmission involves removing the transmission oil pan and filter. The repair procedure starts by removing components (89), (92), (88), (85), and (84) after which you should disconnect the manual shaft seal (82) with a screwdriver. Check manual shaft (84) for existence of damage and burrs while inspecting parking lock actuator assembly (85) for damage and manual shift detent lever with shaft position switch assembly (88) for damage and cracks and manual valve link (89) for damage. The manual shift detent lever pin (92) should be discarded because it cannot be reused. Tighten the manual shift detent lever nut to 31 nm (23 lb ft) after assembling the manual shift detent lever with shaft position switch assembly (88) and parking lock actuator assembly (85) along with manual shaft (84) (model dependent) plus new manual shift detent lever pin (92) and manual valve link (89). Finish the installation process by reinstalling both the transmission oil pan and filter during the last steps.
