    Q:
How to replace the ignition switch on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
Attention: You must turn off the power before starting work with the video column for finishing. You need to extract both the Ignition Lock Cylinder and theft deterrent module from inside the lock cylinder housing. Take out the Ignition Switch by removing its two screws from the Ignition Lock Cylinder case. You need to disconnect the Ignition Switch's electrical wiring connection. When replacing the Ignition Switch you must first hook up all electrical connections before reinstalling it into the Ignition Lock Cylinder case. Place and tighten two screws to the Ignition Switch using 1.25 nm (11 inch lbs.) torque. Install the theft deterrent module inside the lock housing before attaching the Ignition Lock Cylinder assembly with its steering column trim covers. Finally, enable the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the ignition switch on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the Battery Cable's negative terminal when replacing the Ignition Switch. When needed turn off the sir system functionality. First remove all hush and knee bolster elements before moving to the steering column trim covers. To release the tab press down on an allen wrench inserted into the top hole of the lock cylinder housing while the key remains set to run position. Cut the connection between the passlock system along with buzzer from the lock cylinder housing unit. Use Ignition Switch connector release tool (J-42759) to push release pins on the Ignition Switch then extract the component. To prevent no start problems or battery drain the new Ignition Switch must be installed while maintaining perfect alignment of the gears between the Ignition Switch and lock cylinder housing. Before installing the Ignition Switch into the lock cylinder housing turn the gear on the lock cylinder housing counterclockwise until it stops then connect the Ignition Switch while verifying proper tab seating. Gently rotate the lock cylinder housing gear by rotating it clockwise all the way to start while allowing it to automatically move back to run. First, fit the lock cylinder into place and connect both the passlock and key buzzer and finally replace all steering column trim covers together with the hush and knee bolster. Reconnect the negative Battery Cable while enabling the sir system.
