Signal Switch

Users must begin by inserting a flat-bladed tool beneath the instrument panel to access the two upper tabs situated behind the headlamp switch knob and next to the fog lamp switch. After careful depression of the upper skin locks in the headlamp switch area the operator can detach the device from the instrument panel accurately. Secondly detach the switch from the instrument panel by pushing down the lower two tabs until release before disconnecting electrical connectors and finally removing the headlamp switch. When installing the headlamp switch connect its electrical connectors to the switch itself before placing the switch inside the instrument panel. Use steady pressure to the four switch corners on the instrument panel where they will lock into position.

A thin instrument should be used between the instrument panel and the headlamp switch to carefully unhook the upper tabs on both sides of the headlamp switch knob while above the fog lamp switch because the soft cover on the panel can make removal challenging. The switch should first be detached from the instrument panel by depressing its lower tabs which will allow the removal of electrical connectors so you can remove the headlamp switch assembly. Connect the electrical connectors to the headlamp switch but install the headlamp switch assembly into the instrument panel opening by pressing evenly on all 4 corners to make it secure. Check that all skin locks connect with the instrument panel before proceeding.

A technician must remove the lock housing assembly before working with the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly parts. Pull the switch actuator pivot pin from the panels and switch unit that controls wipers and washers. When replacement of this part is not necessary just let it hang untouched. Before separating the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly from the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly you need to first remove the wire protector shield and disconnect its connector from the bulk head connector. Taking care with wires is critical as you pull the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly wire harness through the Steering Column during repair work.

Feed the turn signal switch assembly through the column and connect it to the bulk head connector.

Reinstall the connector cover and enable the SIR system.

Route the electrical harness and connect the connector.

Install it and secure it with pan head screws tightened to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).

Install the lock housing assembly.

Install the headlamp switch assembly into the opening of the instrument panel and apply even pressure on the four corners to secure it, ensuring that the skin locks are engaged to the instrument panel.
